All About our Teachers

Jennie Hoenigsberg also known as (aka) Mrs. H.

Mrs. H has been teaching in the Colchester School District since 2011 and has enjoyed working with many English Learner families during that time.  She started out working at all three elementary schools and now works primarily at UMS.  She graduated from St. Michael's College with her teaching license and MATESOL degree and enjoys taking classes to keep up with current research and best practices in her field.

For fun Mrs. H likes to hang out with her husband and 2 kids.  They enjoy going to the farmer's market, gardening or just playing on the playground.  If she can find any quiet time she also enjoys curling up with a good book!

Erika Merrell

This is Ms. Merrell’s first year at Malletts Bay School and Colchester Middle School.  Last year, she taught English learners at Colchester High School and in Franklin County.  She is enjoying using what she has learned at other schools and in the St. Michael’s College’s TESOL program to teach students in grades 3-8.

When she is not at school, Ms. Merrell likes to play soccer, sail, swim, canoe, and go camping.  She also loves cooking and eating foods from all around the globe.
